IK SÄVEHOF

I started my career near my hometown in Gothenburg playing twenty years for this team
It was the perfect place to grow up as a handballplayer:
I learned handball there and appreciate all the efforts these guys made to make me the player I´m now. I still got lots of good friends there and I´m missing the time and the coaches.
Btw. IK SÄVEHOF has got the biggest handball tournament in the world: the PARTILLE CUP.

GWD MINDEN

1996: My first professional club. It was the first year after the famous BOSMAN- verdict and so the club invested in six new players and a new coach.
It was a very interesting year with lots of new experiences. I learned a new language and a new way to play handball. Since the coach hasn´t had to much trust in me and I wasn´t playing to much I decided to change the club.

HSG NORDHORN

1997: I played four years In Nordhorn. We had a Swedish coach ,
Kent-Harry Andersson, and he knew me from the my time in Sävehof and from
the national team so I got the trust back and because of that a lot more playing time.
At this time Nordhorn was a small club who “just” played in the second
Bundesliga but we had some successful years, made it to the first division and were ending up as one of the best clubs in Germany
It was a great time and I did have the opportunity to play with many great
players.

THW KIEL

2001: In my Opinion: The best club you can play in as a professional handballplayer.
Ten thousand people watching every game and a town with a lot of interest in
handball.
THW Kiel is a very professional club with high morals and standards.
This means a lot of pressure and responsibility for everybody in the club.
The first year we managed to win the German Bundesliga and that was, of
course, one of the greatest experiences ever (See the pics!). The second year hasn’t been that great but despite many injuries and bad luck we ended up in the top-third of the score. This year we started well with our new younger team, so we´ll see...

The Swedish national team

I started playing for Sweden back in 1993 (Oh boy, is it really ten years???) in a game against Estonia.
It is allways great to play for Sweden, meeting all the guys playing all over Europe and of course we are a quite not-so-bad team at all. Some successes we´ve had :

  • World champion 1999, 2nd place WC 2001, voted into All-Star-Team WC 1999
  • European champion 2000 and 2002, voted into All-Star-Team EC 2000
  • Silver medal Olympics 2000

Highlights

  • German Champion 2002
  • EHF cup winner 2002
  • European champion 2000 und 2002, voted into all star team EC 2000
  • Silver medal Olympics 1996 and 2000
  • World champion 1999, 2nd place WC 2001, voted into all star team WC 1999, 3rd place WC 95
  • Voted into the German 1st division all star team 2001/2002 and 2002/2003

Personal goals for the future

Surely my first goal is to stay healthy. In sports there are still some goals Iwould like to reach like winning an Olympic tournament.
Winning a national championship in Kiel is so much fun that I would definetly want to do that again. Then we can focus on winning the Champions league... Sounds a little bit optimistic, huh?
